Fall Crafts

Here are a couple of Fall crafts that we do, it seems, every year. But they are fun every year... which is why we do them. I'm debating whether or not to try something new - craftwise, I mean - this year. I may or may not be up to it.

Collecting fall leaves and making placemats. I couldn't find my clear contact paper so we used saran wrap and it some ways it was better, in some it was worse. Lukas liked to crinkle up his placemat after every meal as if it was a napkin and take it to the garbage. These didn't last very long. Maybe a week.

Our pumpkin patch. We just used colored paper and markers plus some pipe cleaner for the vine. I thought these were cute and the kids could get as creative as they wanted. For instance, one of Abigail's jack-o-lanterns has a really small face, a belly button, and some blood on it. I guess creative is the better word to use to describe it.

Our ghosts. These I have to make for the kids, but seriously, it takes 10 minutes total, I use old rags, toilet paper, and thread, and the kids spend HOURS playing with them. These ghosts first just haunted, and then they went to church (sacrament meeting to be more specific) and then they ascended to heaven. They came back down and drove around on the Autobahn, and finally they went trick or treating. It was nap time so I had to tell them to put the ghosts away, otherwise they would have kept playing with them.  I made their three first, and then the four to hang on our window.

The haunted pumpkin patch.
