Valentines Day almost passed our house this year. It wasn't until last night when I was reading my sister-in-law's blog did I decide I should probably do something for the holiday. (She was going to make pink pancakes using beet juice, which I think sounds awesome and I hope she posts photos on her blog soon, hint, hint.)
For breakfast we had valentine eggs in toast.
And I tried to get the kids conversation hearts last night at the store but they were completely sold out - except for a few boxes of sugar free. I just have this thing with sugar free. I don't do it. So I bought them definitely NOT sugar free chocolate bears. Plus their friend sent them each a valentine.
We made two crafts. The first is a bookmark (Grandparents, please forget you ever saw these as they might be coming in the mail to you very soon.)
And this other thing. I'm not sure what to call it. We glued little paper hearts and glitter on a paper, sealed it all down with contact paper, used a colored paper heart to frame it, and then Abigail wanted hers mounted and Joshua decided not to mount his. They gave one each to their dad. We wrote "I love you because... except I conjugated a verb incorrectly. Yeah, and its even the easiest verb there is. I must have been thinking about something else while I was writing. Joshua's says "I love you because you play with me." and Abigail's says "I love you because I is a child of God" (that was my conjugation error, not hers.) After she told me what to write she said, Actually, we are all children of God. She's right. We are.
I meant to teach them "Des Heilands Liebe" I feel my Savior's love but we ran out of time because I had a ENT appointment to schedule a tonsillectomy and then in the evening we went to get our taxes done. Awww... nothing says romance like surgery and taxes. Happy Valentines Day.
