First of all, Lukas is barely 2 years old. What was I thinking taking him on a 1 1/2 mile hike with significant elevation gain (for a 2 year old) when his shoes are too small for his little feet?!? It was a difficult hike. I ended up carrying Kaleb and Lukas the way back. Poor Joshua is old enough to go fast, Lukas needed to go really slow, and Abigail couldn't decide if she was supposed to run on ahead with Joshua or just hang back with Lukas and complain. Abigail did, in fact, hike the entire way. Here are some fun pics.
In the pic below you see Abigail in the forefront and if you can zoom in you can see a little black dot on the trail just below the last climb which is Joshua. He had to wait another fifteen minutes for us to catch up with him at the cross.
Below, we weren't even at the cross yet, but Lukas was already pretty ticked. I told him when we got to the cross he could take off his shoes for awhile. poor guy.
Later that night, Lukas recovered. He was much happier after a nap, a bath, and a little love from his little baby brother.
