Photos of Pioneer Day

Here are a gazillion photos of Pioneer Day and our celebrations which included the Grand Parade in Spanish Fork (including lots of princesses to wave to), a picnic at home, running through sprinklers, singing "Pioneer Children sang as they walked, and walked, and walked, and walked) at least 20 times, finding photos in our family history books of our relatives were came across the plains, eating homemade chili with cornbread and watermelon, peach cobbler for dessert, and sparklers (before it got dark because the kids were so tired they were about to pass out anyway).  Hope you had a good 24th.

Please excuse the mess

I realized that many people have no idea what our new house looks like (or rather that most people don't) so I've taken some pictures to share. Keep in mind that I didn't pick up at all for these photos, and some rooms are still missing things, like curtains, decor, etc. But you get the idea. Blogger is making life difficult again so you'll just have to guess which room is which. It's not letting me label my photos.

Fishing

As part of Joshua's birthday present (the fishing pole from Grampy) we all got to go up to Midway so Joshua, Papa, and Grampy could go fishing together. Since I didn't go, I obviously didn't take any pictures. All the credit goes to Derek... but I had to twist his arm to get him to take the camera.

Joshua is 5!

Blogger is being a pain so I'm just going to post a bunch of pictures without explanations and call that good. Today was Joshua's birthday. We went out to lunch at Chuck A Rama with all the Mock cousins except baby Henry who lives in California and then made a cake, opened presents, and ate the cake. Happy Birthday to my big boy.

Art City Days Balloon Festival

We did this last year and it was tons of fun. The kids were really excited to do it again this year. This time, though, we invited some friends and so we got to experience the balloons with Ruth and her three boys. The festival was early June. Sorry for the last post. It's been a very busy month.

This year they served the donuts and "orange juice" drink right away instead of waiting after all the balloons had left. This was a fantastic idea as we didn't have to wait 15 minutes in line. But those who got there a little late missed out.
I wasn't trying to get a picture of a police man with a donut, and I don't have any negative law enforcement sentiments, but I do think it's kind of funny. (I also didn't actually post this picture to laugh at the stereotypical police man. I like when the balloons are all filling up.)

This is maybe my favorite photo of this year's festival.

Also, this year I signed the kids and I up to ride in a tethered hot air balloon.  The wait was really really long (even though we were really near the front of the line) and the ride was really really short, but at least now Abigail, Joshua, and I can say we've ridden in a hot air balloon. My friend watched Lukas and took pictures and then I watched her baby as she and her two older boys went up. I promise I'll email you the photos soon, Ruth. Like I said, it's been a busy month.
Abigail wouldn't touch the balloon but Joshua braved it. Barely.

News

I suppose there are a couple of major life events that I should probably share, if in fact you haven't heard already.

1. We're having another baby. Number 4. I'll find out in a couple of weeks whether its a boy or a girl. Actually, I'll find out on Joshua's birthday. That's why pre-school has dropped off the planet... I am fine with preschooling with a newborn but it is totally impossible for me to preschool with a pregnancy. Too sick and too tired and too sick... and too sick. My due date is officially November 29th - I am placing my bets on November 18th.

2. We're moving. And actually we are moving to Spanish Fork. And actually we are moving only half a mile from our old house in Spanish Fork, although the new house is in a totally different stake and elementary school boundary. That's Utah for you. Our house will close sometime next week - that's a blog post all on it's own, and hopefully we will be fully moved in on Saturday and have our old place fully cleaned by next Tuesday - I'm especially hopeful because that is the day we need to be out of here. In 9 days. whew. Here we go.
